On A Scale Of 1 To 10...
[1 Being Okay And 10 Being Real Bad]
I'd Give The Tongue A 3.
It Isn't Painful, Just Uncomfortable.
It's Pretty Scary When They Put The Clamp On Your Tongue Cause You Know Whats Coming, But Thats Honestly The Worst Part.
PS. I Noticed Alanah W Commented That You Can't Eat Or Drink For Two Weeks. If You Didn't Drink For Two Weeks I'm Fairly Sure You'd Wind Up Dead.

I got mine done 2 1/2 weeks ago. On a scale 1-10 with 10 being the worst, I would give it a 3 at the most. Just remember this, biting your tongue on accident hurts 100 times worse!
I would have to agree that the clamp part was the worst. All the anticipation of "how bad is this going to hurt?" leads up to that point. Then they slide the needle in and you are utterly relieved that it wasn't anything like you had imagined. Second worse, the healing process, especially the first week.

It does not hurt at all. Scale of 1-10 a 1. The nose hurts more then the tongue, the nose 1-10 it felt like a 4. Just relax if your going to get it done. And if you do make sure to use Scope or Listerine or any mouthwash to prevent infection.

I have mine done and I didn't even feel the needle go through the swelling hurt more than the piercing but that was only for a week at the most. while you are healing ice cream, soup, and mashed potatoes are your food friends. Your other friends are listerine and ibuprofen. they say that sucking on ice chips help the swelling but heat worked better for me for some reason like soup and even sticking my tongue out under the warm shower oh yeah and even a clean warm wash cloth sitting on my tongue. the swelling only lasts for a week at the most so don't let that stop you.

It's a needle being shoved through a part of your body. It isn't going to tickle.
That being said, everyone's pain tolerance is different. One person might not feel it at all, and another it might be extremely painful.
Don't let the fear of pain stop you from getting a piercing. The needle is only in your mouth for a moment before it's done and you're paying.

one of my friends got hers done, and she said it didn't hurt at all (she has a low tolerance for pain, too). obviously it's going to hurt SOME, but not excruciatingly. also, on hers, they couldn't get the needle in the first time all the way through, so they had to take it out and repierce it. so i don't think you really have anything to worry about, just DON'T do it yourself.
