Joseph was possibly the illegitimate father of Jesus, and I did not particularly say the Jesus "said" he was the child of God, I specified that his mother said it. Any legitimate thoughts?

Ha ha... three times...?

"Possibly?" Well... If that's your conclusion, then... fine.

But, set it aside.

My thoughts are, if you really read the Bible three times and the only treasure you could dig up was that, then... you're missing stuff. Put that question away for a while -- it's crucial enough, yes, and it will surely need an answer eventually -- and look at some of the many beautiful teachings in that book that are beyond question.

It kind of seems like you have a big table of delicious food before you, and you find one little fruit fly sitting on something, and then you can see nothing else on the table but him.

I apologize to you but I'm actually responding the the user named "killreligion" without another way to contact him/her...
in that the video that he/she suggests people watch "Zeitgeist" although correct in linking the story of Jesus to the Mystery Cults (including influences from Mithraism, the Cult of Dionysus {or Bacchus} was more influenced by the Cult of Osiris and not Horus {Osiris being the King of the gods and men - and the dying and rising [agricultural] deity}. But the biggest problem with this film is that it starts by "attacking" religion only to propose the exact same future dystopia which Christian fundamentalist propose!!! How ironic!!! - So which one do you actually believe!?!
can we say CONTRADICTION!

Jesus declares He IS God -

Jesus declares to Satan that he IS the Lord thy God (Lk.4:12 below).

The Lord God of Israel has visited the earth (Lk.16:8 below) through His only begotten Son, Jesus, the Word of God manifested in the flesh.

ALL the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Jesus bodily (Col.2:9 below) – God the Father, the Word of God the Father, and the Holy Spirit of God the Father.

Lk.4:12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Lk.16:8 Blessed [be] the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited (Lk.4:12, Col.2:9 below) and redeemed his people.

Col.2:9 For in him (Jesus) dwelleth ALL the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Lk.16:8 below)

How about when Jesus said...

"all things have been committed to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him....

...reading and understanding and believing are 3 different things...doing all three with the bible is to understand the three things that are God

You must have the spirit of the living God inside to understand heavenly things and concepts...so first seek Christ and then come back and ask.

Interesting, you claimed to have read the Bible three times, yet you cite no references or lead us through reasoning to support your conclusion

Let me suggest a few places to consider.
there was an audible voice from heaven three times in the Gospel

THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, IM HIM I AM WELL PLEASED

THIS IS MY SON, LISTEN TO HIM

I HAVE GLORIFIED YOUR NAME AND WILL GLORIFY IT AGAIN

That would , in part be what God had to say about it Addiitonally Jesus addressed God as Father in ever one of His prayers..

any more questions?

Have you read it in its original Hebrew and Greek? If not, you have no idea what it really says.
