The whole concept of a 'diet' is wrong, even though many people foolishly propogate it. The best and most successful way to a healthy body is through a SLOW lifestyle change.

Slowly increase the amount of exercise you do (finding something you like doing is key here) and slowly make changes in your 'diet' (the other meaning of diet) to make better choices (the information is out there)

Its all about lifestyle change, not a quick fix to justify your old bad habits. People get afraid at thinking about having to change but once you do make those changes you will discover that your new found health is way worth it and you will wonder why you had all those bad habits to begin with.

I have just recently started the Kimkins diet, and I have lost 12 pounds in the last 8 days! It is advertised as the Amazing New Celebrity Diet, and many of the members have lost huge amounts of weight very quickly. I thought it would be very difficult but it actually turned out to be pretty easy because they have all of the tools and recipes on the website. You need to try to keep the carbs around 20 carbs a day, and the calories around 1000.

It was recently featured in Woman's World Magazine as a better option to Gastric Bypass. I have posted some more information on my blog, you might want to check that out. There is a blog about the article in Woman's World, that is how I got started.

this all depends on what you are looking to do. Do you have 5 lbs to lose? Then lay off the sweets and high processed carbs (white breads, white rice etc etc) til the 5 lbs are gone and keep on eye on your weight and do the same when you are up again.

Do you have more to lose? Then an adjustment in your lifestyle is in order. Add more exercize, cut back on food intake. A great way to think of what food to put on your plate is to vision your plate as being in quarters. 1/4 of the plate is for protein (about the size of a deck of cards); 1/4 of the plate is for complex carbs (brown rice, whole wheat bread and the like) the other 2 quarters are for fruits and veggies. Lighten up on heavy cream sauces and dressings. Light and FF are good bets on dressings. If you are still hungry eat another serving of veggies; be very light on butters and use olive oil or other "healthy oils" instead. Limit high sugar desserts to occasionally.
