When I was in sixth grade, my science teacher told us that there were tiny little clear worms inside apples..I didn't know whether she was joking or not. She said she wasn't, but I'm not sure. Does anybody know?

worms in apples are a small percentage of found "extra protein" as far a "clear" is concerned, I suspect they were pulling your leg. when you are young, adults love to feed you full of little false truths. I can only guess they are just passing the buck for when it was done to them. worms or other larvae will make trails of rot that you can cut out of the fruit. if you find that this bothers you, look no further in your food than the label. otherwise you will starve yourself to death.

you could see if there was a worm in your apple. It would leave a path. I grew up on a farm and we ate them right off the ground. If there was a worm hole in it we'd just cut it out with a knife or eat around it. No big deal...mostly the worms end up inside the apple core.

She's joking. In short, No. There are billions of tiny worms in soil called nemaodes but they don't get into an apple. In any case they wouldn't hurt you if you ate them.

Bad teacher! She should've said apples were good & french fries had worms in them. Why turn young kids off fruit for the rest of their life? LOL!

do no longer placed funds into airborne dirt and dust!!! purely %. them off the plant and placed them someplace for the birds to devour! the wonderful thank you to stay away from tomato worms is to plant candy basil in inclusive of your tomatoes. The aroma will save the worms away...certain! i've got been doing this for countless years and have not had a foul tomato when you consider that!

i think it might be true because your teacher said it.
But if you do find one just cut through it or put it in the trash can.
