If I were you I would call your nearest Nissan dealer and check the price on a set of airbags. Any local body shop or Nissan dealer can install the airbags so check around and get a few quotes.

I say go with the 3,500 doller one and negotiate with them and get the price to 3,000... save yourself the hassel of dealing with the airbag situation.

The 3,500 dollar one will be less money. Drivers bag 300 used e-bay passengers side 400 air bag control module under the consol $900 from nissan sprial cable under the steering wheel 250 and any crash sensor that was smashed. And not to mention the dammaged areas under the bumper cover or A/C condencer. Those are estimated prices with out the labor to replace the parts.

I had a 97 max and I kept it until it had 200,051 miles.
A fine car.

If you trust that the car you may get is in good shape, you may easily reach 250,000 and, dare I say it 300,000 miles.

I hope you realize that if you go the "dealer route" you'll be paying big $$.

Check with dealer and get a verbal cost estimate. You may have to go to the dealership "service" department.

Also, you could go to the dealer and speak with a dealer instead of the service dept. Many times a dealer will know about "3rd parties" to handle repairs, customizations, audio, etc.

If you come across younger person, they are usually less guarded about giving out information.

You may find a dealer who could tip you off about what shop could handle it for you.

Also, if you know of or have a "regular mechanic" if "they" can't do it for you they may be able to suggest where to go.
