I believe you are looking for "Congenital Sternal Fissure or Congenital Cleft sternum" which is the result of a failed midline fusion of the sternum.

Is he "pigeon chested"? Does his chest look like it is sunken in a bit in the center? The medical term for that is pectus excavatum.
