Yes & No.

Yes because that kind of duty for a short amount of time after High School is not going to hurt anyone. If anything it will help build character and even help with college and practical training for a job later.

No because the Military is not for everyone. There are many, many people that do not have what it takes by a long shot.

We do not need the draft and we should never need it ever again. I am glad they abolished it and it should be gone for good. What good would the draft do anyways, they just end up drafting a lot of weak soldiers who don't preform well(like myself).

I'd refuge to Nauru instead of Canada though. less people and lots of hot weather cuz Nauru is right on the equator.

I think it should contrarie to popular belief because it develops a belief in our country, its way of life and a respect for those beliefs. We have all our children running around with no direction, in gangs discipline and guidance that the military can give would make a big difference in society as it stands today. And that is what is missing with today's youth

Our military is taking new leaps and bounds to stay voluntary and become more effective in foreign countries. We are allowing foreigners to enter and become citizens to fight for this country! This will eventually, if not already, give our country the advantage over language and culture barriers in wartime. Our young people can sit back and watch somebody else do it voluntarily.

No a draft is unfair, inhumane, cruel and morally wrong. Do you think it is right for a human to be forced into something he or she does not want to do? Also the army only wants professionals not random people off the street. Maybe you think slavery for Africans should be brought back too?

If you all think the draft should be re-instated,
then vote Democratic next election, and your
wishes will come true on this issue. Republicans
have stopped this Democratic legislation so far.

No; I do not want anyone in my Military who does not want to be there. Military jobs are so complicated that it takes a least a year to get good at it.

Definitely not. The military is an elite organization that does not need bad apples getting in the way.
