Chocolate (theobromine) is one of the worst because dogs will readily eat it. Dark chocolate or bakers chocolate is the worst. Onions (thiosulphate) are bad but dogs rarely will eat them. Seeds of stone fruits (cyanide), apricots, peaches, etc. are poisonous if they are cracked open.

chocolate is one problem, but there are dogie chocs which are quite safe, but one of the worst things to give a dog are chicken bones. These can get stuck in the throat and in cases can cause death to the dog.
