The coclusion that I drew from reading the Bible is that God made man and let Him rule. Well man could not really bond with the animals and became lonely so God decided to make woman, so that man would not be lonely and he could have a special bond with her.

Practice makes perfect. ^_^

Seriously, it might have something to do with the fact that we perceive our G-d as having masculine attributes and the bible was written in a patriarchal society. If the image of G-d was an older woman with long white hair, Eve would probably be the first and everyone would be saying grace over dinner to Mary instead. Who we see as our icons are based on the society in which we're raised. Having Adam come first, and having Eve being made from Adam gives the power to the male in an era where the Church was trying to negate the Goddess image, and even forces women to feel greatful to males for giving her substance.

This is my own opinion, though. You're free to take it as you will. :)

God didn't want any advice on how to do it. hahaha. I'm not sure. One author I read said that God created everything in progressive order. He started with simple rocks, water, and dirt. Then he created the firmament (or sky), to separate some water from the rest of the water (probably a layer of ice over the earth's atmosphere which fell down during the flood in the days of Noah). Next came the plants. After that came the sun, moon, and stars. On day five came the sea creatures. On day six came the land animals. At the end of day six came Adam, who possessed all of God's image. Since it wasn't good for Adam to be alone, God created Eve. Adam was the best of God's handiwork, until God created Eve. She was the crown of God's creation. The world would not have been complete without her. Of course Adam wouldn't have fallen without her either, but ya know, that's a whole other discussion. I do believe that one of Eve's primary functions, and that of her daughters also, is to keep Adam and his sons humble. Women call us out of ourselves, particularly wives and daughters. They force us to think about others besides just ourselves. I believe this is why God created Eve. She also was there to help Adam. He really needed her help and men still need women to help them in life. She needed him too, and he failed her back in Eden, but she failed him too, just like men and women fail each other today.

Genesis 1:27
27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

They were created at the same time unless you think the female was Lilith in which case Eve came later because Lilith wouldn't obey Adam and was the first exile from Eden. She may have also been the mother of Cain's wife?

The primary information about Adam and Eve is in the Bible. It SAYS that Adam was created first.

To reject that, you are rejecting the reality of Adam and Eve.

Well, if you believe in fairy tales and such, read The Gospel of Lilith which was not allowed in the bible when it was made at the council of nicea.

The Gospel said that Adam and Lilith (Not eve) were made at the same time, and lilith was, in a nutshell, an individual, refused to be adams servant. So she was cast out of eden by "god"

Later god put adam to sleep and took his rib to make woman to show obedience to adam.

silly christians dont study enough of their own folklore, lol

I believe that that's how it was. BUT(!) I believe that Lilith and Adam were equals before she left paradise. Adam was so jealous of Lilith that she refused to do things the way he wanted them to be. God created Eve after that, so that Adam wouldn't be lonely anymore(Lilith escaped from Paradise). So God created the women first. Ha ha.
P.S. If you don't know who Lilith is just look it up on Wikipedia. D.S.

Because God is considered a Father. In His plan for humankind He wanted the man to be responsible for the family. If the wife is to have the children who then is to go to work? Here is what HE said,' let a man leave father and mother and cleave to his wife". He wanted the man to understand the role that was carved out for him. With this in mind He created woman.

Because of the trial and error principle ;-)

No, seriously, this is maybe because men tended to be valued higher than women in ancient societies. The stories in the Bible often reflect the general situation of life in those days, so maybe the Genesis is no exception.
