First, all the main religions DON'T tell about "the same things".
Why do people still quarrel? Because there's a HUGE difference between, say, Christianity and Islam.
Your question doesn't make sense because your assumption isn't valid.

I think it's just human nature to think that what one is doing is the right why. It's like that with everything. I think many think they are helping other by showing the way that they've chosen but sometimes that just doesn't work. I believe that all religions promote a sense of belonging to a group and peace (yet everyone has their different views of peace and can take everything to extremes I guess).

This is a little controversial, but here's my opinion:
I think a lot of people who become Christians to be "saved" are terrified that if another religion has any merrit, it will shake the truth of their own up, and they might be wrong about some things. They can't stand the thought of being wrong about being "saved" so they completely reject anything that goes against their own beliefs. I won't even go into how I feel about that type of thinking.
As far as other beliefs that feel they are the only right one, there are similar reasons. They desperatly want to be worshipping God the right way to remain in his favor, and the thought that they might be doing it wrong is too scary to even consider.

If the main religions told about the same thing, why would you come on here and ask this question. You are proving that they are NOT the same.
Which one(s) would you want to stop teaching?

Are you speaking of the different sects of Christian religions or all religions in general?
There is a difference between worshipping a cat statue, a buddah statue, God, Many Gods, Being a witch etc...

Actually all religions do not believe the same things... in fact many of their beliefs are mutually exclusive. While is is logically possible that any or all could be in error in their beliefs. It *IS NOT* logically possible for them all to be correct.

Religion isn't of God, no matter what they teach or say in the Name of God or Jesus - that doesn't make their religion any better than the next religion.
Jesus never taught to follow any religion . . . He taught to follow Him right to the Father!
God Bless You
