Absolutely. I know this from life and also from working in the dog licensing department from my town. I think people choose a certain type of dog based on the type of person they are.

It is a good thing this is not always true, although it is sometimes true. If it were always true I would have some pretty ugly dogs. I am an old guy with gray shoulder length hair, a full beard, you know like a mountain man and skin that has spent too many years out in the sun. My three dogs, a Chi/Rat Terrier mix, a Beagle and an APBT are short haired and cute. Not me!

Of coarse. I always see owners with their dogs and it is kind of scary because they really do look like their owners. There is this old man that lives in my town and he has a terrier mix. When I first saw him walking his dog, I had to do a double take. The old man looked just like his little terrier.

of course! Haven't you ever heard the phrase "mans' best friend'? But cats don't a hunk of cat food for their owners. Except that they have food. That's why police and firefighters and people who try to detect bombs all have dogs to help them. Dogs really care about their owners and they love to make their owners happy.
