fat storage is not something that occurs at a measurable rate on a day to day basis. it occurs over an extended period of time when there is a consistent caloric excess and an insufficient amount of activity.

A lot of how our food is digested depends on what we ate. If the meal we had is very fatty then it will take quite a bit longer for our bodies to break it down. If what we ate is spicy then what we ate will be digested sooner. If you eat a big lunch of Taco bell then slept after an hour chances are the meal wouldn't turn right into fat.If you ate a large fatty meal IE.mashed potatoes, gravy and pork then went right to sleep, the chances of you gaining wt. and having fat collect around your heart would be greater.

from my experience:

the food you eat doesn't automatically become fat. it needs time, usually 1 day. Yes, some of the food will be turned into fat, but if you exercise after it (to a gym, not jogging etc) it will be fine. It will be fine as long as you don't eat big lunches every day
