If they are eating pork and not going to church on Saturday, then they are not strict adherents!
The Levitical law is also part of "The Bible." Strict adherence to the Bible should also include The Law. If it doesn't, then anybody claiming adherence is merely cherry picking.
EDIT:
re: "just-one-man's"... I am not saying that it is necessary. What I am saying is that if somebody is talking about "STRICT ADHERENCE TO THE BIBLE" then that should also include at least a minimal effort to adhere to the law. If that is not done, then the term "strict adherence" is not applicable. After all, the Old Testament is also a part of The Bible.

I don't think that the majority of modern day Christians pay strict adherence to the Bible. As for your second question...I think it's a carbon copy.

You assume that modern day Christians strictly adhere to the Bible when our interpretations often varies to extremes.
The Bible tells us (who believe) Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty, so one can choose to be liberated or enslaved.
I think, admittedly there are a lot of people who look for something to shackle them so they don't have to be responsible for their actions (or lack of them) but there are many who use the Bible to help them in their lives, in their decision making.
Whether or not that's slavery is a matter of opinion.
The way you framed your question shows that you're biased and not really interested in reasonable discourse
Sucks to be you, doesn't it?

You have a career in politics, my friend. You write in a circular fashion that would make M.C. Escher dizzy! Let's go to the end for me to ask, "What is an "original copy"? How does that differ from a "true replica"?
Now, back to the beginning. How could someone be a "slave" of "freedom"? They are antithetical concepts, much like everything you say!
Editorial Comment: I MUST respond to David N's silly answer. IF Christians COULD obey the law then there would be no need for Christ. The point of the law is NOT to obey it, but to understand God's true measure of purity. By understanding it, we see how far we are away from it. By understanding how far we are away from it, we see our need for Christ. Christ did not do away with the law, He fulfilled it! The Jews of their time were saddled with the burdensome YOKE of the law. It cannot be fulfilled by men! That's why you see so many atheistic Jews today. The law does nothing but persecute them, condemn them, etc.
But as I say, Christ came to free us from that yoke and now you want to send us back to it? I say again, if we go back to trying to live the law then ... why did Jesus come? Why did Jesus fulfill it? We eat pork because we have liberty. Consider what Jesus told his disciples: "When you go into any land and walk about in the districts, if they receive you, eat what they will set before you, and heal the sick among them. For what goes into your mouth will not defile you, but that which issues from your mouth - it is that which will defile you."
Now, PLEASE justify what YOU say about not eating pork with what Christ says about eating whatever is put before you?

That's like asking whether self-control is a form of slavery, or whether licentiousness is "freedom".
Joh 8:34 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin."

The Word of God is the same past, present and future.
If I am a slave, then I choose to be only my God's slave...because He sets me free.

modern day christians are slaves to EVIL, hate, war, greed, Spiritual ignorance, to name a few...
Here's the simply Solution for religion:
Eliminate religion from Your Life, A.S.A.P.;
Freedom of religion is Freedom FROM religion; religion is Spiritual fraud;
Universal Truth eliminated religion from Spirituality a long time ago;
Accomplish this:
Create a Private, Personal, Direct, Divine Relationship with Our Creator and save Your Soul from religion's and atheist's beliefs and start Your journey back home, to Heaven.
<<<<<<< UnConditional Love is the only answer >>>>>>>
Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.
Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!
