It's a place between heaven and hell (purgatory). It's also just as mythical.

According to Roman Catholic teaching Limbo is a place on the border of hell or heaven, serving as the home after death of unbaptized infants and of the righteous who died before the coming of Christ. It was also believed that with the return of Christ those souls would go to Heaven because of their innocence. They no longer promote that belief....that's strange....? .
