The two guys above me are right about fight science from national geographic. But keep in mind that the testing was done to individuals not machines. The reason that I say this is because only one person from each of these martial arts was tested in the various fields. This is what scientist would call a "case study". They didn't take into consideration that different people have different capabilities. Also, it seemed that the fighters tested were of much different height and weight. The boxer was able to manifest the most powerful punch the head at a little over 1000 psi. Tyson has been measured at around 1700 psi. He did seem a lot larger than some of the other guys. The person that practiced TKD had a faster reaction time than the others. To me this just meant that tkd guy was able to strike mitts faster than the other handful guys. The setup was more like a video game with a light flashing on mitts and guys striking the mitt that flashes. This in no way proves that TKD people have a faster reaction time. As far as the Kung Fu guy…The guy is maybe 150lbs at the most. Of course he is going to be faster than the other much larger competitors. I am sure that it would have been much more difficult to defeat 150lb boxer in this event. Also keeping mind that those strikes were about as hard as my sister hits. The Muay Thai knee is no joke no matter how you look at it and Frank Dux is probably the biggest lair in martial arts. Just look him up in wikipedia.

RE:
What is the fastest, and most powerful, punch and kick ever measured?
It doesn't necessarily have to be the fastest and most powerful punch and kick ever, because that probably hasn't been measured. Thank you.

"Fight Science" (As said above) had some decent examples, but they weren't the best recorded ever. They were very accurate on a lot of levels, however.
Boxing- Hardest hand strike. The fabled "Knockout Punch" is possible. I think they compared it to getting hit with a sledgehammer.
Muay Thai- The knee done by the person that did this style was similar to that of a 35 mph car crash.
Kung Fu- The practitioner of this was able to strike with the hands about six times faster than a Snake lashes at its predators.
Tae Kwon Do- The Practitoner of this style was able to react at .18 seconds- Faster than the eye can blink.
The person that mentioned Bill Wallace is correct about the foot speed record.

As for Frank Dux? I honestly don't know. I'm sure he's legitimate, but I can't know about his records.

I think i can lead you to the answer. There is a movie called *BloodSport*. It is supposed to be a true story about Frank Dux fighting in a Kumite world competition. He holds many world records for fastest punches and kicks, consecutive knock-outs. At the end of the movie, all those records are shown. I think the fastest kick was over 70 mph, but you will have to see the end of the movie to view all those numbers. I would not want to fight him.

Well based on the "science of fighting" thing I saw on Television. The TKD spinning back-kick is the most powerful kick.
A Muey Tai knee to the gut is the most powerful blow period.
A Nin-jitsu "hammer fist" is the most powerful punch measured.
The show examined and compared TKD, Karate, Muey Tai, Boxing, Gracie ju-jitsu (with Gracie himself) Kung-fu and nin-jitsu.
If any of you are interested in seeing it, go to Youtube, they have the whole thing in sections.

Dear "Darth Dave",
Look up Frank Dux in wikipedia. Only he says those are his records. Nobody else ever recorded those feats.
Nuff said there.
If you believe that story, you may as well say Ivan Drago.
Bruce Lee's one inch punch, was recorded. He punched a 6' 2in, 210 pound black belt (who was bracing himself) in the chest, and knocked him on his butt. That black belt no longer doubted his power.
