The Catholic Church is not and never has been in control of the Dead Sea Scrolls. They are possessed and controlled by the State of Israel.
The Dead Sea Scroll contain:
- All of the books of the Old Testament (Hebrew scriptures) except Esther
- Several books that never became part of the Hebrew Scriptures
- Numerous commentaries on the Scriptures
- Books having to do with
.....- Community life
.....- Rules for living
.....- Temple worship
.....- Other matters
There are many duplicates. Fourteen copies of Deuteronomy have been found and two of Isaiah.
The scrolls are important because they:
- Testify to the accuracy of the people who copied and recopied the Scriptures over the centuries. Despite minor errors, they show us that the Old Testament has not changed since it was compiled.
- Throw light on beliefs and customs in Palestine during times between the Old and New Testamants. There was far more diversity among the Jews than had been thought.
With love in Christ.

None of the Dead Sea Scrolls belong to the Vatican.
The Vatican does maintain secret archives, nut they are routinely made available to any serious scholar.
Is there anything else about the Vatican you would like to know?

As far as I've read, the Dead Sea Scrolls belong to Israel and some are on display in the Jerusalem Museum. The Vatican is fighting Israel for them, but so far, nothing has changed, and I hope it will never happen.

The Catholic Church did no such thing.
The team originally assigned to supervise the translation and giving-out of information on the Scrolls did seem somewhat possessive (like many academics) but it was not made up exclusively of Catholics.
What are these hidden scrolls?
If they are so hidden how do you know about them?
I suppose that it is an honor for us Catholics to be the center of so many wackos paranoid theories and hate speech.
,but it is tiresome, especially when so many people are so capable of violence and/or believing anything negative about Catholics.

Because the catholic church is very controlling and wants to hide the truth about a lot of things. Just look at the priests. Pope John Paul was covering up some of the pedophile priests. They want to have the perfect image and in my eyes the are nothing more than a cult. I was always taught that to be a follower of Jesus you must live your life in his image. Now tell me, how can they call themselves Christians and hide the truth about certain subjects from their people?

From what I understand, the scientific community has possession of dead sea scrolls.
Also, it's not the Catholic Church that removed books from the Bible. In fact, their Jerusalem Bible has at least 14 more books in it than the Protestant King James Version.
People, read a book.

Because if mankind new the real "truth" the middle East would be a wast land today, there would be no human life there only oil wells, and the Islamic religion would be no more, and when mankind realizes that religion has been nothing but a lie many cultures will simply be annihilated, and that's what I see the future holds for us.
