burial for one. After that, it depends on how you lived your life.

Thats a good question. Do you believe in the Bible? Consider what it has to say. Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10 puts it plainley."The living are concious that they will die, but as for the dead, they are CONCIOUS of NOTHING". "Thre is NO work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in sheol". Simply, 'Sheol' is another form of Hades, Hell, or 'Grave', in the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek texts. Similarly, Psalm 146:4 says that when a man Dies his "Thoughts do perish". Notice at john 11:11-14 how Jesus compared death to sleep. Jesus made no mention of Heaven or 'Hell'. Further, there is no evidence that Lazarus came back with exraodinary stories about seeing bright Heavenley lights, burning fires, or other-wise. Take the example of the disciple Stephen when he was stoned to death, the Bible says that he "Fell asleep".(Acts 7:60). Also, the apostle Paul spoke of those who had died as "Falling asleep". (1 Corinthians 15:6) Its no doubt comforting to know that we do not suffer after death. But the Bible also holds out the hope of a "resurrection"(John 5:28,29;Acts 24:15).

The question of what happens after death can be confusing. The Bible is not explicitly clear on when a person will reach their final eternal destiny. The Bible tells us that after the moment of death, a person is taken to Heaven or Hell based on whether he or she had received Christ as his or her Savior. For believers, after death is to be "away from the body and at home with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23). For unbelievers, after death means everlasting punishment in Hell (Luke 16:22-23).
This is where it can get confusing as to what happens after death. Revelation 20:11-15 describes all those in Hell being cast into the lake of fire. Revelation chapters 21-22 describe a New Heaven and New Earth. Therefore, it seems that until the final resurrection, after death a person resides in a “temporary” Heaven and Hell. A person's eternal destiny will not change, but the precise "location" of a person's eternal destiny will change. At some point after death, believers will be sent to the New Heavens and New Earth (Revelation 21:1). At some point after death, unbelievers will be thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15). These are the final, eternal destinations of all people - based entirely on whether a person had trusted Jesus Christ alone for the salvation of their sins.

I would strongly suggest that anyone of any religion or belief system (or not) read Michael Newton's "Destiny of Souls: New Case Studies of Life Between Lives"...with an open mind...and decide for yourself. Whether you believe in anything or not, it's still an amazingly thought-provoking read, to say the very least.
Bright Blessings

IMO, that is it. I do not believe in an afterlife. I think afterlives were created by people who are afraid of death. Which is a perfectly natural human response to want to survive and live on no matter what.

If you accepted God's Son then eternal life in paradise with Him awaits you. If you didn't then death and separation from God awaits you. It's a black and white issue.

I think this question is answered in Islam and Christianity. It is the day of judgment. Everyone will receive his reward or punishment for what he/she did during his/her life. We 'll go either to paradise or hell.
