Hi Katie. ooh you do take me back with some of your questions!
Unfortunately, we don't have the ice-cream man where i live, but i would be in my element if we did! ... I remember the ice-cream with the (yellow&red)rocket in the top, another favourite was the Mr. Whippy 99 cornet & the oyster!! My daughter was fascinated by the ice-cream van on one visit to England & none of her friends here believed her so she took lots of photo's&videos, on our last visit, her friends were fascinated too!!
It is such a shame how they all miss out on this... The only ice-cream we can purchase is Movenpick from the supermarket!

He-he I love this question, it must be the nostalgia!

We have just moved and been here about a year, and yes an icecrean van does come around here, mostly on weekends, just once though I think and in the school holidays. I think because where we live has quite a few families and no main roads, where I lived before was a terrace off a main road and not so many families; mostly professionals and students.

When I was little I used to love big feet ice cream lollies...where did they go? Bring 'em back!

Ah times change don't they? I can still remember the three wheel bikes with box on the side. .The old Walls stop me and buy one. The ice lollies .the triangular snowfruits. a penny each. The ice cream vans now seem to concentrate on being outside the schools at coming out time. Do not hear the ding dong in the street any more.

Our ice cream van comes round everyday, 4.30 exactly, even in winter. It's a small village, and the van gets a lot of trade.

However, prices are nothing like that! They are much higher, because the van has no rivals, and can charge what it likes.

The truck is kinda' hit and miss around my parts. I have a feeling that the gas prices are too high for the ice cream man to drive around too much anymore.

Hm... Well, at my school an ice cream truck is there every day. I'm not sure about other places, though. Probably around schools more, since the kids will be hungry after school.

The ice-cream man lives two doors down from my house and he's called Rajah Ices. Sadly he doesn't stop outside my house, just passes on his way home.

Yes it still comes around. But with those prices who cares?? $5 for a popcicle. I think I am in the wrong business. Ripping off children seems to be more profitable!

no. i live in des moines, ia, us, and i hate to say it, but ice cream trucks have been outlawed here! every summer there is a big debate over whether they should be allowed again, but it hasn't happened yet. they were banned because there was an accident involving a child running after a truck and they were deemed unsafe.
