There is a book that is usually in a college library that is known as the DSM IV. You can buy this book in a book store. The DSM IV is a diagnostic manual that the psychiatrists and psychologists use to diagnose a person. I just remember that the D stands for Diagnostic and the M stands for Manual - can't recall what the S stands for. The book is about 3 to 4 inches thick. What you must understand is that this book is for professional people and not for the lay person. There are certain criteria that the person must fit in order for there to be a diagnosis.
I took Diagnosis and Evaluation in college - but didn't pass. This was the book that we used for that class. The class was for a Psychology major.
Good luck with your friend.
Hopefully they will realize that they need help and seek out the help that they need.

this web site will describe the symptoms, but a diagnosis has to be made and treated by a physician preferably a psychiatrist. Your friend has to want help, if he is too wrapped up in his rage to want it, then there is little you can do.

Don't self diagnose. Go see a Doctor. It could be something totally different.
