what can happen to you when you drink lots of water and ice tea a day?

Water and tea have two different problems.

Water "flushes" the body of bad things for your kidneys filter out, BUT too much also flushes nutrients from your body. You can actually die from drinking too much water, mainly because it screws up your electrolyte balance. And it takes necessary nutrients out of your body (you pee it out). About 4, 8-ounce glasses are all that is needed (despite the urban myth literature.)

Tea (most forms) are a source of caffeine, and is a diuretic. The caffeine is one problem (it is addictive, and falsely stimulates the body into activity that is generally not good for it,) but the diuretic problem causes more water that is normal to exit the body, and can leave you in a dehydrated state without your knowing it. This can become deadly for older people very quickly.

The general rule applies - too much of anything is NOT good for you... No exceptions. All the modern hype about "hydrating" is nonsense, and sponsored by companies selling bottles of water - they are after your money!

Drinking a lot of water a day is actually very good for your health. They say you should drink 7-8 cups of water per day to stay healthy. However, the ice tea depends if it is diet or not, because if has a lot of sugar, drinking to much of it can make you diabetic. If it is diet and healthy there shouldn't be any problems. Although, drinking a lot of any liquids in general, i have heard of people drowning themselves drinking too much water. But keep in mind thats got to be A LOT of water.

you urinate alot. But you also maximize the efficiency of your body's metabolism, it is a good thing to drinks lots of water, tea isn't bad, but it is a natural diuretic and can just make you thirstier in the long run.
Of course if you are drinking several Gallons, that would indicate an abnormal thirst and that could flag diabetes, so if that is the case, see your doctor and get tested.
