I was out with someone the other day that was accused of stealing. She has served time 15 years ago for petty theft so this would be considered her 2nd offence as far as I know. Does anyone know if she will be served jail time or if she'll be let off with 3-6 years probation and a fine?

Literally depends on the judges mood on the day!

If you want her to get off, tell her to appear in court dressed demurely (not looking remotely chav like) and to plead exceptional curcumstances. Ohh and to keep her mouth well and truly shut if she is remotely the gobby type.

Should result in a suspended at worst.

And tell her to stop stealiing - its dammed stupid.
