my boyfriend is 2 years older than me and we are both still in school. I think it kind of bothers him that Im younger than him though. I know he loves me, but do you all think that age matters in a relationship? Like, can it break the two people up?

I don't think a 2 year difference would matter at all. Most guys that age like having a younger girlfriend, so I don't think that matters either. Maybe he is thinking about the fact that he'll graduate ahead of you and wondering what will happen then. I certainly don't think that 2 years difference could cause you to be that different from each other or cause you to break up. Then again there are some very shallow guys out there so you never know what they're thinking. If it does bother him, then I think the problem is him and his level of maturity.

Depending on your age , but you saying you are both still in school it can break you up . He will be finishing school before you and starting to do other things and might think you cant do them as well . When he turns 21 and youre still 19 that can be extremely hard on a relationship . Age doesnt matter in a relationship because you cant chose who you fall in love with it just happens . If you both really like eachother or love eachother you can just try a little harder to make it work , all relationships take work anyways !! Your garden wont grow if you dont pull the weeds out !!

Anything that you let get in the way of love can break you up.
When you are 20 he will be 22. When you are 35 he will be 37. Is the age different at these points? I am 20 years older than my fiance. Does that make a difference? No....what could make a difference is listening to people who do not know your hearts, who may be jealous of others who have found happiness or who are predjudice for any reason.
What I would suggest is looking at the situation, seeing if there is another reason that might really be getting in the way because this one is trivial in comparison to what really should matter.

The older you get, the further apart age differences can be. It might be odd for someone 18 with someone 16, but you'd think nothing of someone 46 with someone 44. Know what I mean?

The only problem with school is how the students around you make you feel. If he's more important to you than how you appear to everyone else, then you should know the answer. But trust me, when school's out for 1 of you, you'll never think about the age difference again.

good luck!

It depends on your age. The younger you are the more 2 years can make a difference. But 2 years later in life is nothing.

That sort of depends. My mom's parents are 12 years apart. He's older than her. It only depends on how you two feel about it. It doesn't matter to me but it's the choice you want to make with each other. If he's bothered, it's OK. Men are bothered by so many things. I would prefer to be older than a girlfriend but it doesn't matter how many years. Talk about it with your boyfriend and make the choice on what to do together.

Doesn't bother me that my husband is 4 yrs older than I am, but then we didn't meet in school. We didn't meet until 6 yrs after I had graduated from HS.

Now my mom was 5 yrs older than my dad. It didn't seem to bother them either! But, if I remember correctly, they did meet while they were in school, but only because dad was a friend with mom's younger brothers.

It sounds like maybe your bf might not feel he can take you places where you wouldn't be old enough to go or he wants to do things he doesn't feel you're up to yet. Don't try to rush growing up!

I don't think it matters as long as you both love eachother. I mean 2 years isn't a big deal. Now it it was like a 13 year old and a 20 year old or something, then that'd be wrong. But that's just my opinion.

I think anymore than 3 years apart when your young is wrong or to hard to do cuz your at different maturity levels. to me it matters a little i don't think a 16 year old girl should go out with a guy who's 21 he's to old so dream on. Maybe that's just me though.

no age shouldn't matter at all.
as long as the two of u r in love..then it shouldnt matter. it can onli break u two up if you let it get in the way of ur relationship. dont let age come between u two.
that would onli be a perfectly wasted love that ppl always wish they had.
