Evolutionists, can you please explain the following:

Why are humans the only animal that has a nose seperated from the mouth--all others have muzzles, beaks, probiscuses, etc.

Why are we the only animal with a true opposable thumb--all others have "thumbs" that are actually extensions of the wrist

Why are we the only animal that has to bathe because our natural body odor, if not washed away and controlled is actually offensive to the opposite sex (and everyone else for that matter) and has been since long before personal hygene was easily accomplished--the tradition of spring weddings was started because it was shortly after the yearly bath, and most people still smelled okay, but the bride carried a bouquet of flowers because she was already getting a little ripe

i too used to think many of these odd human features of ours were too diffrent to be caused by evolution. Such as our poor dental hygene (it's not very fair we are the only species on the planet that needs to brush every day), our appendix, tonsils and whatever useless organs, the tendency to mate for life (also not very fair for us), or our weak sence of smell, big foreheads and weak chins. all of there features seem to not make any sense in nature or in an evolutionary state. through research i found the one thing that truely makes us diffrent from any other organism on the earth and also the answer to these tricky questions. while all other organisms on earth are constantly adapting to their envionment, humans force their enviornment to adapt to them. This first became true when homo erectus discovered fire. now that erectus was cooking his food it did two things, more protien (from the larger amount of meat he can now eat w/o getting sick) and a smaller jaw line (from food being softer). The smaller jaw line allowed the forehead area of the skull to grow larger and deeper. all the new meat promoted muscle and tissue growth and TaDa! the frontal lobe of the brain evolves and we have homo sapians. this was the start off all these "odd" changes in the human body simply because this was the start of the human body. so to answer you in short, body odor is similar to why our teeth rot, its because we adapt our enviornment to take care of the problem ourselves (deoderant, toothpaste). We have been bathing in oils and brushing our teeth with diffrent agents for so long that our actual bodily features dont even need to be doing the job for us. our opposable thumbs come from walking on our hind legs freeing up the front legs making, you guessed it, hands. finally if you havnt noticed, our nose and mouth are connected, havnt you ever seen milk shoot out of somebody's nose when they laugh real hard? where did you think it was comming from? i hope this helped.

I don't know where to begin except that you're WRONG. Did your preacher tell you this or did you copy it from a comic book for gullible creationists? Whatever the source of your information, it's so wrong as to be a joke.

All mammal noses are separated from their mouths as anyone who has observed the development of any mammal fetus will have observed. Anatomically the area under the nose is formed separately from the nose above AND the mouth below by skin growing to fuse under the nose. This is sometimes incomplete at birth giving a "hare lip" in humans and forming the double upper lip in some other mammals. Ape upper lips are formed in the exact same way as humans, which is hardly surprising considering the recency of our shared common ancestry.

The opposable thumb present in humans and apes is anatomically exactly analogous in both. The thumb bones are attached to the rest of the hand in exactly the same way.

As for body odour - this is just hilarious. We don't "have" to bathe. Until very recent times people in Europe would NEVER bathe. We only notice a person's body odour today because most people do bathe but in a society where no-one bathed then no-one would think anything of it. All mammals have a natural body odour and humans are only different in adopting a recent fashion for removing or hiding it.
Nowadays it's only some peoples' questions on Y!A that really stink.

PLATYPUS:-
For the brainwashed creationist below who wants an explanation of the evolution of the duck-billed platypus and details about how creationists always get the facts wrong about this creature go here>>> http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/platypus.html

I'm a Creationist, but I know something about the opposable thumb thing. Some Evolutionists believe that we did not evolve from apes, but evolved from cats with opposable thumbs. Kind of far-fetched, wouldn't you say?

How about you study human evolution, biology, and anthropology, THEN come back and see if you are still wondering that.

There are perfect reasons for all of those questions, it's just too bad you don't want to find them.

I'm sorry... is this supposed to make us doubt evolution? Humans are special, but not in the way you think.

Just because we don't fully understand something doesn't mean we should dismiss it entirely. Christians love to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

while you're at it, you should ask what animal the duckbilled platypus evolved from. i'd honestly like to know what the theory is on that one.
