Just moved to Tennessee from Ohio and lost my wallet. Now I can't access my bank account, open a new one due to no id, nothing. It is like I lost my identity and have nowhere to turn.

Contact Ohio DMV and tell them what happened. As their advice.

That sounds bad, but it's not THAT bad! Use your head a little. Call your bank and tell them that you've lost your ATM card and that you've moved. They will verify that you are who you say you are, NOT by asking for ID--you're on the phone!--but by asking you those "secret" questions that only you should know the answer to!

Let's say that they won't mail it to your NEW address. I trust that you filled out the change of address kit in your old state? If so, the bank can mail it to your old address and the post office will forward it.

You go through the same process with your credit cards, your driver's license, etc. It's a slow process. You'll have some explaining to do along the way. But IF you are who you say you are AND your story is true then the pieces should all add up, right? Be patient. Don't panic.

You might also consider contacting the police. No crook would EVER do that! So, that alone suggests that your story is on the up and up. And as odd as it may seem, maybe even the Red Cross. While your plight might be a little unusual, they are used to doing humanitarian work. You need help! They should be there for you.
