I was thankful to read your post...however...you don't have to apologize for other's behavior...that is on them...the same as i don't apologize for my other family member's behavior...or the behavior of other atheist...i will be respectful of you...which includes your belief and thank you for respecting my choice...

It's a nice gesture, but I would be quite surprised to see any non believer respond positively to you, and believe me I hope I am surprised. I am a Christian too and I also believe in respecting everyone and don't force my beliefs on anyone, but every time I ask a question in this forum directly to atheists and state upfront that I am only curious and don't mean to offend mostly I just get back snotty and rude comments. I have only found 2 or 3 who are willing to answer seriously and who are apparently open to discussion. Most of them on this forum appear to be here only to degrade and judge us and to answer as rudely as possible. It is so bad that at times I have to take a long break because my skin just isn't thick enough. I sincerely hope you have better luck than I and a lot of others have had and God bless you for attempting to smooth rumpled feathers.

Unfortunately, it's not "a few" christians, it's most of them.

How many christians do you know who are against advertising monotheism monotheism on currency and in the pledge?

How many who think homosexuality is a sin according to their religion but would never dream of denying others basic rights because of their beliefs?

Read Letter to a Christian Nation to understand how harmful religion is. Email or IM me if you don't have a copy handy.

I too wish to apologize for anycruelty or arrogant acts of ignorance done to Non Christians by Christians. I would also like Non Christians to apologize for the same done to Christians by Non Christians.

Just as all Non Christians(or any subset thereof) are not the same ,so all Christians are not the same in worldview, personality, educational level, commitment, knowledge of other Christians, their own subgroup or other religions and philosophies, etc. When we make negative generalizations aboput other groups the same will happen to our own.

Very well put Top of the line. The bible says that not everyone that cries " Lord, Lord " is a true Christian. Many wolves come in sheep clothing. I feel that some people will say they are a Christian and say rotten things to people to try to make our belief seem like one that is not tolerant of others. The bible says " don't try to remove the speck in your brothers eye when there is a log in your own eye. This means don't judge someone else fault but instead remove the fault from yourself so you will be right with God. Thank you for your question

As Lady Suri says, one can grant forgiveness only to those who've committed the sin. Even the Pope has asked Catholics to pray for forgiveness for the atrocities of the Holocaust, which is actually praying in vain since each individual can only forgive the one who's harmed him. There are very few of both victims and perpetrators still living.

Of course you can. I hope your throat is not too sensitive or you will not survive at this site. Do your best, try to be the change you want to see here.

Remember, all people are not Christians here who say that they are Christians.

I respectfully do not accept your apology. You did not wrong me and therefore it's not your place to apologize.

I'm not here to shove my views down anyone's throat. Rather I only wish to inspire thinking and debate between believers and non-believers.

If that in any way offends people that's to bad. If they are certain of their position then they should not feel offended by the views of another.

I am not worried about what people say in Yahoo answers, but I respect the thought behind what you are saying.

For the record, more wrong was done to me by Christians when I was a Christian.
