You may not have to file them manually. The IRS accepts electronic returns up to October 15. So if you can get your software working, file electronically.

Either way, nothing bad is going to happen and you will still get any refund that is due.

/If you have a refund coming, nothing will happen to you at the federal level for filing your tax late. As long as it's filed within three years of the original due date, you'll still get your refund.

YES, YOU WILL STILL GET YOUR REFUND!

Absolutely nothing happens to you for filing late IF you are getting a refund--no penalities or interest unless you owed the IRS money and you were filing late. Since you do not, you are just fine and will get every penny back of your refund! :)

You have up to two years from the due date to file for a refund. There is no penalty if you do not owe any taxes. You can still get your refund for 2005 (return was due Apr 15, 2006) and for 2006 (due Apr 15, 2007). Sign and mail your completed return. The IRS should send your refund sooner or later.

You should call the IRS, they have great customer service believe it or not and can talk you through it. You should still get your refund, I think, but there may be a late filing penalty.

Not a problem. Just do it. You don't even need to notify the IRS.
