Many Christians talk about how they "felt" the spirit of god with them. When I was a child I would pray and pray and pray, but I never "felt" anything. Eventually I gave up. That feeling would be enough for me.

Ok - but it seems that if God were all-good, all-powerful, and all-knowing, and the designer, creator and implementor of natural laws He would be competent enough to allow humans exactly the truth about Him such that most, if not all, of humans to believe in Him correctly.
Instead, religious disagreement arises and reasonable nonbelief occurs.
So - perhaps a person could believe that the sum totals of all the 'unknowns' in the Universe implied a God presence. But this would mean looking at lack of evidence and proposing this as THE EVIDENCE for a God. This feels intellectually flawed.

well this is more your belief system, right? that if this universe runs so perfectly, then there MUST be some kind of supernatural being that created it to run this smoothly. unfortunately enough, it doesnt run all that smoothly, there are pockmarks and black holes everywhere in the universe, and to me, it just doesnt seem logical that something as complicated as the universe could be thrown together over six days. and spare me the "he's omnipotent, he could totally do it" because thats just passing it off without actually giving an argument. im not saying i know exactly how everything happened, but ive made up my mind to try and find exactly what did happen in a logical sense, instead of through blind faith.

Supernatural miracles are happening everyday, we just have a way of rationalizing them all away. Look at creation for example?
And yes you are correct people are just trying to find the impossible-God's flaws. They fail to realize hat they are fighting a loosing battle.
"...Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men .. and the weakness of God is stronger than men....that no flesh should glory in His presence.." 1 Corinthians 1:25-29

The anthropic principle: "God did all this to support human existence" is a kind of proof.
We were placed on just the right planet
spinning at just the right rotation and axis
at just the right distance from the sun
a just right sun, second generation star (long consistent burn)
in just the right galaxy
with the just right number of planet, and positions in orbits
in just the right position far enough from the violence of the cosmos
I mean . . . we could live no where but here . . . when they look 'out there' they find no where like here . . . it is awesome!

What you're saying is that God hasn't lifted a finger for some 15 billion years.
--
Edit:
I see your point. However, my point is the opposite: unless you can tell me otherwise, I don't see why I should consider the existance of God. Until I see anything that warrants closer investigation, I'm not inclined to perform it. So far, every 'miracle' I've heard of can be explained by natural means, unless you decide that the Bible literally is the truth. I cannot possibly see why I should lend that sort of credibility to that book over any other.
So that about wraps it up for God.

It's amazing at how the devil has clouded peoples minds so they will actually claim they see no evidence of God. As you inhale ask yourself could you remember to do that 24/7 for the rest of your life? Breathing to supply our body with air is evidence of God. If you got out of bed on your own or even if you opened your eyes to a new day, it is more evidence of God.
I could go on ad infinitum about evidence that people say they do not see, but its easier for me to pray for each of you who claims there is no evidence of God.

If they see a supernatural occurrence, they will fit it into a natural occurrence, just as rainbows were probably thought to be a supernatural occurrence. So even if we did find a supernatural God, then it's very proof would make it that much less supernatural.

I have perfect proof...I was in an industrial accident last year and a piece of steel fell on me,i thought i might loose my foot but i prayed and sincerely meant it this time. well my foot looked like it was gonna fall off but come to find out somehow it wasn't even broken,it just crushed all the veins and tendons .....i was very lucky considering i have a wife and son to support....More proof is.....if you have children just look in their beautiful eyes that's more than proof enough.

The world, flowers, a baby being born, the universe, the seasons, Love, compassion, etc etc. That is evidence of God.
