If you do get a tattoo, make sure it's something you can live with. Putting it in the small of your back is actually a good idea, because it's easy to hide it with clothing for when you don't want it seen.
Pick something that really matters to you. It could remind you of a cherished family member or something significant in your religion. Think about it. And remember, if you don't know what you want yet, it's okay to wait until you know for sure.

Since you obviously think of a Tatt as a "Tramp Stamp" then, unless you feel that way about yourself don't get one. Now if you can honestly look at the tattoo as a beautiful work of art that you would like imprinted on your body as a form of your personal expression then you should get one. I recommend not getting a boyfriend's name bacause you are so young. But something that is meaningful and tasteful to you, such as your zodiac sign or some type of chinese symbol, something that will grow with you. If you want something crazy or outrageous, just remember that you will have this for a long while and you will probably have to explain it to a great many people including parents, friends, bosses, and future spouses.

If you are seriously considering getting something that you yourself think is a tramp stamp, you are clearly in no position to be permanently marking your body.
Yeah, you can get a (badly written and incorrect) chinese character or a rose, if you want to label yourself as just another sheep.
If you want to be unique, put more thought into it.
But you have plenty of time, since no respectable tattoo artist would tattoo you at 14 anyway. Besides that, it's illegal in most states, with or without consent.

Yeah, to be 14, you don't need a lower back tattoo.
I've never liked the term "tramp stamp" but in a kid as young as you, that's really what it would be. Your parents may say yes to a tattoo right now, but just keep in mind that as a teenager, your thoughts and opinion will change drastically between now and even NEXT YEAR. Get your first name or your zodiac sign...something that will never change about you.

How bizarre that no matter what parents say, you still can't get into a bar to drink, yet that goes away. And here we are discussing what tattoo a FOURTEEN-YEAR-OLD should get because mommy and daddy said its ok! Any self-respecting tattoo artist, regardless of the law will tell you and your foolish parents to come back in four years. Hopefully by then you will have thought it over and realized that one never gets tattoos unless and until they are adult enough to know what tattoo they want without soliciting advice from strangers.

i definatly do think the tramp stamp is too trashy for a 14 year old, try getting a rose on your ankle, or maybe your hip. the chinese symbol i would put on the shoulderblade, wrist or back of the neck. good luck hope it comes out good

Tramp stamps are trashy for any age as far as I'm concerned. The name says it all!! I think your parents are crazy for allowing you to get one.

That is something to think long and hard about. You are 14, is that something you are going to want in say 10/15 years.
