She is acting weird, staying in her crate and being pitiful. No exuberance or excitement. Is it just shock or is she sick? She isn't acting sick. Just has a different personality-lethargic and pitiful.

I'm sure she is in pain and not feeling so well. Most dogs will be okay. You can try putting vinegar on the sting to help ease the pain. You can call your vet to see if there is anything else you can do for her. A baby aspirin and Benadryl will also help with any swelling and pain.

BEE, HORNET AND WASP STINGS
Every once in awhile a dog gets stung by a bee, wasp or hornet. The sting can be very painful, particularly if on the end of the nose. Some dogs are allergic to insect stings and will have large swellings at the site of the sting.

Symptoms

A dog stung by a bee, wasp or hornet will suddenly yelp, start forward, then look wildly around for his assailant. He may race away, looking around and behind him. Usually the affected part will swell and itch.

First Aid

If possible, remove the sting with tweezers. Then apply a baking-soda paste. Cold packs (ice or wet cloths) will help to relieve the pain and swelling. Calomine lotion will ease the itching. If the swelling persists a few days, take the dog to the veterinarian. The dog may have an allergic reaction

I had this happen to my dog once... her nose swelled up! Do you know where she was stung? I can't remember if wasps leave their stingers, but you might want to check anyway, to see if it's still in there. Give her about half a pill of benadryl - less if you can cut it smaller. She's probably just feeling sad and depressed, and she might be in pain. If you can figure out where she was stung, you might try putting some ice or a cold washcloth on it. Basically, just treat her like you'd treat yourself, and she should be ok in a couple hours.

Of course, if she starts having a serious reaction and can't breathe, get her to a vet!

It's the same as with humans - wasp stings may not be a problem, but they can also be fatal if an animal is allergic!

I'm not necessarily in favour of rushing an animal to a vet whenever s/he's stung, but if your dog is showing signs of illness (and he is) I would certainly take him.
