Snuggly little fuzzy butts--they don't care about anything as long as they're getting cuddled

I doubt that this answer will garner me the glorious BEST ANSWER award but,...
... as an agnostic, and in the interest of fair play, - I feel an evolutionist answer is in order:
--------------------------------------
Most people find babies 'cute'...

This is an inherent natalistic response within many species of animals, including humans.
This 'instinct' drives us to be attracted to a certain set of characteristics which include, but are not limited to:
> Over-sized and symmetrical heads
> Large eyes
> Small mouths
> Small noses

Darwin proposed that individuals of a species will exhibit a new trait if that trait provides a survival advantage, boosting an organism's chances of living to see sexual maturity and successfully reproduce.
Given this, it is likely that in the distant past not all babies were 'cute'.
However, - once the preference for certain natalistic qualities embedded itself in our genes, babies had no choice but to become 'cuter' over the generations;...
... a sort of 'cute baby rivalry' in order to get our attention so as to increase our protection of them,...
... and thereby increasing their chances of survival.
--------------------------------------
That said,... I like kittens...;-)

Kittens and cats are very cute. Isn't it nice that the evolutionary process that God created (right along with the rest of the universe) produced such beautiful critters?

Yep. God knew what He was doing when He created such a well-tuned process of evolution!

... and being fed (you forgot that part) =OP

One time while most of my family was in the living room, we heard a scream from the bathroom where my sister apparently had just gotten out of the shower. It seems that her cat had somehow gotten in there and was waiting outside the bathtub with a present... a recent rodent kill. Maybe all he wanted to do was share? It's probably his cuteness that was all that prevented her from committing murder (or at least mayhem) against his kittenhood.

I don't know, but they are the cutest, are they not? Kitties love unconditionally. They just want a warm place in the sun to take a cat nap.
Feed them, give them water, love them, and they will keep you warm right back. Kitties are the best.

I used to have a poster with the cutest little furball on it and underneath it said

Wanted. Good Home for Tiddles. I will ignore you and damage your furniture for food!

Lol! You're nobody til you've been ignored by a cat.

Because God is Love and He also has a terrific sense of humor. Why do you think God created Yarn and rolls it in a ball?

Sigh, I miss my rottweiler. I'd bet she would love to play with your kitties. My nieces would call her "bad girl" but they were just being affectionate. *cough*
