instead of taking the Lords name in vain i always say "Judas priest!" firstly, it's not blasphemous and secondly Judas Escariot was the deciple that betrayed Jesus at the last supper for 20 pieces of silver. So he's a bad guy to alot of people. Oh yeah..he later hanged himself in remorse.

An expression used to convey exasperation, disgust or title a person treacherous enough to betray a friend, a traitor.
Famous actors have used this expression in movies to say their disagreement with something someone or a group has said or done.

It's used on the theory that it is better to swear using the name of Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus rather than saying "Jesus Christ," taking the Lord's name in vain.

Well, besides the obvious, Judas Priest the musician it is symbolic (I think) of Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus and placing him at the rank of a priest in Christ's church. It's an insult to Christianity.

A Judas Priest is someone ordained as a priest and publically vowed to live the teachings of the Church but who betrays them, like immoral or heretical priests, since Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus to His enemies.
Rather than being a Christ Priest, who shows forth Christ in his actions and speech, the traitor is a Judas Priest, who sells Christ out.
The Judas Priest sins epecially in lust and greed and seems to hold commitment to Christ and His bride ,the Church ,in contempt.
"Judas Priest" is also a more acceptable"empty oath" than using the name Jesus Christ in vain, like "darn "for "damn". It was also the name of a 70's( I think) Rock band.

It means,
"Judas Priest, Barbara! Its one of those flaming bags again..."
"Dont put it out with your boots, Ted"
"Dont tell me my business Devil Woman!"
Thats pretty much it.
