I kind of think die athiest are just as closed minded as Christians when it comes to religion. I come from a long line of Athiest. And they are convinced that without a shadow of a doubt that man is top dog...Out of a billion stars? The way we act? When not so long ago the earth was flat? Yeah these scientists have got it all figured out, at least until some new scientist comes along and proves them totally wrong. Nah I think I'll wait to make a desicion on God until I have some more data or wind up in a fiery hell which ever comes first. But the Christians do take the cake for stupidity, they mention the founding fathers as if they weren't a bunch of slave owning athiests.

To "Fireball266" -- You'd be surprised. Detroit's largest newspaper did a reliably-conducted poll a few years ago, and discovered that there is a VERY strong correlation. The more educated a person is, the LESS likely he is to want anything to do with the anti-social agendas of the RRR Cult.
(That's paraphrased, because the poll broke things down to specifics, such as being anti-choice with regard to abortion, etc.)

It's heartening to know that more and better education may ultimately prove to be the primary cause of the RRR Cult's ride down the Drain of Extinction, where it can join its companion in bigotry, segregation.

What is your highest level of education you have? Does that matter with God. Like if I had a PHD in theology would that make me more knowledgeable about the things of God? Just because I believe something does that make it true? Is God a respecter of persons. Did he not say I have chosen the foolish things to confound the wise. Paul was a educated and highly intelligent , in his day..he thought he was right and had a zeal for religion and he destroyed peoples lives. Yet God used him in a great way...he said all he knew he counted as dung. God made education but that is not his mission, nor should it be yours. What is your first love...is it not to know God?

I have a 6 year degree (Educational Specialist) as well as a Master of Arts Degree in English.

I am a Christian, no special denomination. I believe in God and believe that Christ died for my sins. I do not try to "win souls" by preaching to everyone with whom I come into contact.

I am agnostic. I think it is stupid to be anything else (and atheism is as bad as religion). It is impossible to put that much faith and commitment into something you can't know.
I am 15 years old therefore i do not have a particularly high level of education, so I suppose that makes my contribution unimportant, but oh well.

Agnostic, and I'm a junior in college, majoring in English in order to teach it.

However, I do not feel that education is really a necessary component in determining for oneself what is true or false, nor in determining what one truly believes.

Does it help? Yes, of course. But to call everyone without education inferior in their "spirituality" would be a mistake.

That being said, I do feel that one ABSOLUTELY NEEDS to research a religion if he is going to join it.

Atheist. I'm in college, though I've been an atheist since at least 10th grade (those are the first religious debates I remember).
