Do you think that a girl should be out looking for her future husband or should she wait for him to come to her? Does the Bible say anything about this? If I'm supposed to be out looking, where in the world do I look other than church?

Dear Mr. Shallow,
I am pretty. I don't flaunt it but I don't hide it either.

paulywog: You are very right about that. Christian is just another title people are claiming without changing their lives. It's really sad.

Patience... ahhh... the word I didn't long to hear. :o) Thanks though. I'm 24 years old w/ pretty much no social life so I fear that Mr. Right will never see me b/c I'm not anywhere to be found...

We do not have to search for a husband to be, but instead try hard to follow His teaching. A husband or wife is a give from God. Pro 19:14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.
And if the Lord sees that you need to have a husband He will give you; like Adam he didn’t ask to have Eve by his side. Pro 18:22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.

My wife and I met online in a christian pen pals site. I waited for almost 13 years for my wife to come along, and I am highly blessed.

Yes the bible does say not to be yoked with unbeilvers, but I think that the bible is silent on this because the choice is up to us on who we choose.

But there needs to be guide lines in the choosing. Check out the following books or go to a christian bookstore and ask.

Boundries in dating

I kissed dating goodby

Seeking Mr right
I dont know by who.

Well Bible is silent in this type of specific suggestions. Every person has different stories. Well one thing for sure that if you are christian you want to marry someone who is Christian. You will find them in Church, or in some other religious places. But finding a suitable partner needs lots of prayers and counsel of people. Well you can also drop a word to friends and relatives that you are looking for a date with a Christian guy and someone can arrange it for you. Well bible is silent on this things. It means that you are free to do quite lots of things. But for sure Bible does not support "marriages are made in heaven."

I went along with my life not 'waiting' per se, but living it, having fun..pursuing other goals. God's timing is perfect, I'm sure you've heard, and I unlike a lot of others, had to wait until my thirties to meet the man God meant for me.

But I'm so glad I did. No regrets, not even how long it took.

I agree with others here to keep your eyes on Jesus. Trust Him. You will meet your future husband when the time is right.

I would say put yourself in social situations that are in keeping with your faith, perhaps volunteer work where you're more likely to socialize with male Christians.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all thy ways and HE shall direct your path.

I have always believed that real love finds you when you least expect it. Nothing wrong with going to Church functions, or school functions to have fun and see which guys are there. However, you shouldn't push it. The time will come when you will know who he is, it will feel oh so right and oh so good, Just continue to pray that God directs you toward this fellow, and it will happen!!! Good luck, and just be patient. Thanks for the question and have a great day!

A Christian girl always keeps focus on Jesus first, above all other things. Once a strong relationship with Jesus is founded then He'll provide a suitable husband for you. You need not look. Just focus on Christ and it'll find you. Pray for patience.

Bookstores and supermarkets work pretty well. Try to be somewhat obvious when trying to catch a guy's eye. Guys are notoriously dubious when it's too subtle -- and we HATE risking rejection. By all means, be active -- not passive. There's a term for the ones that are too passive: "old maids."

To "Paulywog" -- Oh good grief!!

Faith without works is dead. So my dear its best to search and then ask God to choose for you.

You only wait in situation where the ball is not in your court. Look at all your Bible descendants, they actually searched and God chose for them. Read the story of Ruth, that will help you.

BUT, do not do anything that will compromise your faith.

God bless.

It's your call... I mean, what would "LD" say?
Well, what is the motion of LINING UP And finding you mate quicker?

I think it really has to do with WHAT WE are doing as people towards each other and what we are doing towards other people.... what can we do to "tune it up"

Well if you have not yet gone VEGAN, that is the main thing you can do.... it's the only way for peace

TRUE ethical STANCES yield truer trails to mate finding

I was a wallflower until age 25, unmarried 'til 30, so I know the feeling. I believe if you do no looking at all, if you just practice faithfully loving, truly loving everyone in sight, your beloved will find you.
