The pain is like a sprain only in the lower part of my middle back, I am not covered by insurance so I can't go to the doctor. It is extremely painful and I would like to know if it is serious or what it might be. Would pressure or a massage help in anyway or ice? what should I do to make it go away besides tylenol which doesn't work?

massage therapy can definitely help back pain. Many times it's the muscles that are tight and need to be loosened. I also recommend you take a hot bath for 30 minutes with 2c. of Epsom salts to help reduce the pain. Advil soft chill capsules work very quickly on pain, take them four times daily.

Back pain is serious. If it is not fixed quickly, its effects can be with you for the rest of your life. Go to a doctor. If not that, go to a physiotherapist.

it sounds to me like a possible kidney stone.usually on one side above the hip and below the ribs.pain is supposed to be comparible to childbirth.
if you get stopped up and cant pee.IMMEDIATELY! GO TO EMERGENCY HOSPITAL!if you dont it could lead to kidney failure.
