I'm a big fan of Ayn Rand's book Atlas Shrugged. I want to get a large representation of Atlas, the Greek god who holds the world/universe on his shoulders. All of the pictures I've found representing Atlas are of ancient statues and really aren't what I'm looking for in a tattoo. Underneath the picture of Atlas, I'm going to have the oath from the novel, "I swear -- by my life and my love of it -- that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine."

In the book, there is a description of Atlas that I think I will incorporate into the tattoo.
"If you saw Atlas, the giant who holds the world on his shoulders, if you saw that he stood, blood running down his chest, his knees buckling, his arms trembling, but still trying to hold the world aloft with the last of his strength, and the greater the effort the heavier the world bore down upon his shoulders -- what would you tell him to do?"
"I...don't know. What...could he do? What would you tell him?"
"To shrug."
--this comes from a conversation between Hank Rearden and Francisco d'Anconia.

Lindy and Jessie -- that is an excellent pic. I think it makes a good starting point for a tattoo artist to jump off from.
