I thank Jim Darwin for the inspiration.

Is there any participants that stand out as people who started out as not friends but became good friends?

For me lookn2cjc was a woman with totally opposite points of view. We are still opposite in a lot of ways but we care about each other and she is a true friend.

Also Armenian rebel has become a good friend.

The Anglican Church and the Pentecostal Church are very different but Father K and I have both love the same Lord and have become good friends.

It's been 71 years years since WWII (Dec 7, 1941) and as for China taking over other countries, I think the best way they can wage war will be to become the biggest financial giant in today's world. As far as outright fighting goes you can always look to the Middle East or North Korea, but most likely right now there will simply continue to be skirmishes with small groups that try to pack a big punch so "War" as we knew it, where you fight a traditional uniformed soldier from a specific country, is most likely a thing of the past.

No, not really. All the people I befriended now that are my friends I liked them right off the bat.

I do have some friends that hold some very different views such as Proud Muslimah, God's Kitty, etc..

Hmmm, I viewed mostly everybody here with distrust, regardless of their beliefs. The few times somebody would attempt to contact me with IM or 360 (this was with another account), I would decline or make something up to not make it happen.

One of the regulars here, JellyBean, managed to get through me somehow, right before I had decided to leave. She made yahoo!answers fun again, made me laugh, made me get teary-eyed (just once).

no, i don't really talk to anyone outside of Y!A so none have become actual friends

but there are many people in here who i would consider Y!A friends, many of whom do not share the same beliefs as i do. such as loka, pangel, acid zebra, the dearly departed deke, zero cool, wingless, rachel k and many more

Acid Zebra is my guy on this one
he is so opposed to the paranormal and i thought he would be rude at first in debate on the subject
the guys is so respectful to me though and I have emailed several times with questions about spirit etc to get his views on it
not once , even when his views oppose mine , is he anything but respectful

Pangel, same with me and AZ. He must think I am totally wacko but he treats me with respect and kindness.

Riegan I don't "talk" to these friends either but we have 360 and e-mail. I feel genuine love for many of my friends here.
