If they are so smart why are they not rich and pay their bills? and wear and live in decent parts of town? and clean their houses?

I thought they were all upper middle class citizens. I guess some peoples college does not pay off at the end.

WOW.....
I know alot of teachers and they are just that teachers! They don't claim to be geniuses.....theres a difference. Teachers learn from the same books we do (did). Teachers learn something new everyday just like the rest of this worlds populations.
All the teachers I know and associated with own their own homes, but I can tell you a teachers salary is NOT enough to make anyone rich by any means!
If there were a teacher's salary that could make you rich, it still wouldn't be enough to compensate for having to teach rude "uneducated" people like yourself.
Before you post crap like this again, you should do a little research before making such nasty assumptions.

Teachers, by and large, are in the middle income group in the US. They do sometimes have trouble affording a home in the neighborhood in which they teach, depending on the neighborhood. Most teachers do live in nice houses, keep them clean and wear clean, neat, though perhaps not stylish clothing. Teachers tend to also pay their bills.
Your question suggests that you have a certain teacher in mind.

I think you have a lot of assumptions here. I count at least seven. I think you don't know a lot of teachers, and you can't possibly know their credit ratings.

They are almost never paid a living wage and often have debt from getting all the expensive (once cheap) degrees and certificates necessary to teach.

well community college teachers (where you go) don't make much money cause they cater to the lower rank and file

or perhaps the govt. can pay them more than what they're being paid. they get paid beans, and you my friend are rude.
