I have a 21 month old female gsd/cattle dog mix and I am fostering a 13 month old male collie/St. Bernard mix. They are chasing each other around the house pawing and jumping on each other. They are also play biting, but neither is acting aggressive to one another. My question is since they are still young is this play or something I should seperate them on..IIs that behavior normal at their age? .There are no raised tails, growling, raised hair on back.. I never leave them alone together and crate pup when I am gone.

They are just playing let them have their fun....go to a dog park sometime you will see that even well socialized adult dogs play that way. People seem to forget dogs are descendants of wolves play fighting is in their nature. Unless someone is getting hurt there is nothing wrong with what they are doing...let them burn off that puppy energy.

No, they're not being aggressive.
That is how they play.
My dogs are 5, 3, and 1 and all three of them play like that. Not all the time, but when they get all excited that's how they play together.
Some dogs are more aggressive when they play, that doesn't mean that they are being mean.
My 5 year old female is the most aggressive.
We just laugh because she bosses the boys around when they're playing. I guess she's letting them know she's as tough as the boys.

But then when they aren't playing, they will lay together and give each other kisses, every once in awhile.

I think you should just let them play.
I pet sit for a living, and all my customers that have 2 or more dogs, that's how they all play.

Enjoy your dogs, I know we enjoy ours :)

Don't worry about it unless you see blood. I have three dogs that are not puppy's, a 9 year old Chi/ Rat Terrier mix, a 5 year old Beagle and a 4 1/2 year old APBT. They will get into running through the house with the Pit grabbing the Beagles legs or ears, the Beagle trying to bite the Pit's mouth and the little guy running behind them barking. This goes on until I have had enough and tell them " Enough". Then they they find a place to lay down or come to me and beg for a treat, which they usually get, such beggars.

This is perfectly mormal. They are having a good time, don't worry about it. They are still very young and they love to play.
My dogs play together all the time. Sometimes it sounds as if they are killing each other but they are just enjoying themselves.

I would be concerned, however, if you have an unspayed *****, especially if she comes into season. You would really have to worry then if the dog hasn't been castrated.. You could end up with a litter of puppies which you may not be prepared for.

Just let them be puppies. If it gets too serious, you will know. When one wants the other to back off, you will hear a high pitch yelp, which translates to 'Ow, stop it.'
If you hear that a lot, in a row, then seperate them. Untill then, they could tear on for hours. Any growling, barking, and biting is all normal.

As long as your dogs are not biting hard or growling, I'd say they are just playing. However as soon as they get aggressive I'd break them up. Try to supervise them when they are acting like this.

As long as they dont get aggressive they are fine. Its normal for puppies to play and play fight. If one of them hurts the other, then it will yelp and the other dog, will back off. Thats what tells them its too much. I wouldnt be worried about it.

That's perfectly fine, let'em play, just make sure they don't start getting aggressive, watch them, and at the first sign of aggression, pull them away, and keep them separated for a short while.

They are just having a good time. This is good for them to socialize and interact. I would not separate than at all.
