Using Ancestry.com, I looked through the 1930 US Census and counted eleven Henry Grays (both white and African American) who were born in Georgia. I couldn't find a Henry Gray married to a Johnnie Ann Johnson, but I did find this entry:

Henry Gray (age 30)
Living in Sanford, Seminole, FL
Born: abt 1900
Birth place: Georgia
Wife: Josephine Gray (age 16)
Born: abt. 1914
Birth place: Florida
Race (for both): *****

I may be way off base. Most of the other Henry Grays were single, or the wife's name didn't sound anything like Johnnie Ann Johnson.

In the 1910 US Census, I also found a John Ann Johnson, age 1/12 (which presumably means one month old), living in Bowdon, Carroll, Georgia.
Father's name: Bill
Father's birth place: Georgia
Mother's name: Mattie Elin
Mother's birth place: Alabama
Race: *****

Again, what I can research is limited by the amount of information you are able to give me. If you can tell me some more details, for example, the names of your parents' brothers and sisters or even their estimated years of birth, I (and numerous other posters) will be happy to look up some more information for you.

Best of luck!

I tried to do a check for you in the social security death index... using the filter, I find 11 Henry Grays who died in Georgia, and 3 Johnnie Grays, also who died in Georgia. And none of them show Eastman, Georgia as the place of death.
The critical piece for you to find is his (and her) date of death (if during the last 50 yrs), or other identifying things, that will show exactly which of these persons might be YOUR Henry Gray. They were grandparents to one of your parents... did they live long enough that your parents remember going to their funeral, or something?
Next is to order the death certificate, which will show names of the parents. The same info may or may not show up in their obituary (if they had one). Some obits are one liners, others have a mini family history.
On the assumption that either or both were born prior to 1930, they should be listed in that census (1940 is not yet open for searching). They might also be in 1920, 1910, even 1900.. depending on the exact ages. Census is a great tool.. many people luck out into finding their ancestor as a child, living with their parents, and one of the grandparents is also in the home. Really can open some doors.
If you think you can recognize them by dates.. you can search the ssdi by going to www.rootsweb.com, and click to searches. PLEASE USE THE ADVANCED SEARCH OPTION to narrow it to Georgia. And.. I'll take it one further step... once you find the county of death, use just the surname to search and the name of that county. It often will thus pick up related persons (ie brothers or cousins) who died in the same county. Those will fit into your files down the line, and can often be the hammer to break a brick wall.

Have you looked for him on SSDI and the US Census? You didn't give us information like ages that would have helped us to aid you.

You could also order his death certificate to get his parents' names which will also be on his Social Security application, and show on the censuses.
