it is on the back of you computer on a silver tag. why did you post this in hunting if it was for a computer?

On a rifle? Are you looking for it on a rifle or looking for a rifle with a particular serial number. Finding the rifle with the right number is impossible. Finding the number on the rifle is as easy as looking around. Check the side of the barrel, side of the action, magazine floor plate, stock etc. It shouldn't be too hard to find if it exists. Some older firearms don't have serial numbers though.
