To be BAD...?

What is better; to sin or do something bad and regret it, then make up for it, or to do nothing bad in the first place?

In the circumstance that the "sin" is a major sin, it is better to have not done it in the first place. Obviously this applies to murder and other offenses of that nature.

If the sin was minor, it would be better to have sinned and made up for it to learn from your mistake, since minor sins are prone to be repeated.

Well, we're human, so we're going to do bad things. But I say avoid the bad act in the first place. I say it is better to have used one's conscience to make the decision to avoid doing something bad than to do it, then regret it.

I'd say the former -- do something bad, feel properly guilty about it, make amends as much as possible and no matter what it costs.

Why? Because to do nothing bad is impossible, it's against human nature. Learning from our mistakes -- and the mistakes of others -- is what makes us fully human.

To do nothing bad is impossible. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes.
I think most people regret their mistakes. Most people don't want to go around hurting others, I would hope.
I think it's always good to try to correct your mistakes, and if you've hurt someone, to apologize and try to make amends.
