I guess I've thought about this a little more then most. I think that no matter what you do there is going to be some pain. If you shot yourself in the head there is that moment when the bullet is tearing through your skull and that has to hurt. What if it's not a well placed shot and you lay awake for hours waiting to be found. Cutting your wrists, GEEEZZZZ paper cuts hurt, a slice in the wrist deep enough to get the veins--no thank you. Over dose on pills, could work if you take something you won't vomit up. I think if I were going to try it I'd wait till it was twenty below zero, put on my swim trunks and go sit in my back yard. It would take about five minutes of being really cold, then my body would shut down. In the morning my neighbors would call the garbage truck and report a pile of manure in my yard.

Supposedly divers can die by going straight down. Supposedly there is a silly narcotic like high that removes all concern and pain regarding death.
Suicide always hurts. Sometimes it doesn't work and it leaves the suicide person worse off than in the past. Suicide sends everyone close to the suicide into depression and makes them guilt-ridden. Parents and teachers have a sense of failure. My grandma killed herself and I constantly have my eye on my children worrying whether they have her gene for whatever mental illness she had.

Based on some of the answers I read, I am not sure u need to know.. ? are u sure this is a school project? sounds u just want info..
But to ans. u... U want it to be painless for who?
The victim or the people left behind?
It is never PAINLESS.. someone is always hurt, i urge you to talk to a counselor and seek advice about the subject matter.. if u r depressed and need a way out.. they can help you... good luck...

What? Suicide is painful to. Probably the most because not only do you take your own life.. You injure everyone around you as well. It is the MOST painful act.
I would say though.. to die painless, you would have to be in a deep, deep coma and then if there's no help for you pull the plug.. so to speak or in your sleep while your having a nice dream....

Actually, if you're young and healthy, it's much harder to kill yourself without it hurting. Then, of course, it hurts your family and friends forever, and they care about you more than you can imagine. The thing about suicide is that it's a permanent answer to temporary problems. If you kill yourself, then you never get to drive a car, you never get to go clubbing, you never get your own place and your own paycheck and get to buy things that you like. You miss out on everything, and there's a lot of amazing things to do. Being 13 sucks, it gets a lot better soon. But you never know unless you try.

The big question about dying is where to go, Heaven or Hell.
God wants us to have Eternal Life in Heaven when this life
is done. Suicide is an offense to God, the life-giver. God loves us and we are precious to Him. Son of God died on
the Cross to save us from condemnation, and qualifying us
to Heaven. Heaven is wonderful beyond descriptions, and forever without end. Never, never, miss Heaven for anything of this troubled world. Best wishes!

You have to be honest with yourself in order for us to provide an adequate response. You stated in previous posts that you are 13, depressed, seeking psychiatric help, and considering suicide. Please seek the immediate help of a family member or adult friend.
Good luck and take care of you!

I personally don't like thinking about dying, well more precisely, i have issues about my own aging. Suicide is never the answer and can be just as painful as any other way of dying.
I have to say your question does concern me a bit; if you are have suicidal thoughts please talk to someone.

There are poisons like cyanide, which the person can take. Death is painless, like falling asleep and never waking up.
