Honestly, I would think not. Certainly most young people are going to be better singers as they gain experience - but it is possible to be naturally gifted at a very young age. I recently saw a video of a 6-year-old who sang on a talent reality show and she had perfect pitch. Still, I would guess that this is rare.

My mother used to tell me that I was singing before I learned to talk. No one is too young to learn to sing unless they are too young to want to learn. Instruction is very helpful at many stages along the way, but many wonderful singers have learned by singing every day and acquired technique by copying more skillful singers.

Singing and performing are two very different things.If a young singer has the drive and the talent to perform, well and good, and this is only possible with the support of at least one parent. But it is a mistake to move beyond a supportive role and push children into a professional life for which they are not prepared and which they are not really choosing for themselves. "Stage Moms" are the bane of show business.
