I am not sure if they have anything to spray on it.... Most people tense up when they get a tattoo. When you flex the muscle they are more receptive to what is going on. Your best bet is to try and relax the area the best that you can, you will feel less pain.
Good luck!!!
By the way, the coloring is not as bad as the outline....
everyone seems to say the shading is worse... that is because they already have the open wound from the deeper outline and the shading near it aggrevates it.... You won't have that so it won't be so bad ;-)

If you're 14 years historic you're too younger to be making this determination. I obtained a tattoo while I used to be sixteen and I remorse that one. I've gotten extra for the reason that then that I like. But while you're that younger you do not make the exceptional offerings. You feel you do however later you'll remorse it. I might say wait till you're 18 after which get it. Or a minimum of wait till you're definite approximately the layout you wish. Wait one other month or so till you're definite of what you wish. Good success!

you can buy some rub on cream from the place where you buy medicines in your country.
It is a numbing cream and a lot of people use it for tattoos,
called emla and there are some others available, in Australia you can buy it over the counter at pharmacist stores.
i have found the outline more painful than the coloring in anyway so dont worry, it wont hurt that bad.

you just have to grin and bear it. i am just an hour or so away from having my back completely tattooed. it hurts. tattoos hurt and just so you know... they say that the older you get, the more tattoos hurt so you better get it finished now rather than later in life. just work in hour long sessions, or whatever you can handle. it may be slow going but you can finish it up and be proud of yourself for not using any type of drug or skin numbing.
most artists will not work on you if you have done anything relieve the pain because it can cause extra bleeding or creams can alter the texture of your skin and make tattooing more difficult.
just suck it up.

They do have anasetic stuff you can ask them to use it ... i dont know how much it will help, but it should help a little... also try to think of other things... start a conversation... watch tv if they have one but just do anything you can to get your mind off the pain... good luck

well you done the worst thing ever getting a tattoo b4 your 18 your skin is still growing and will ruin your tattoo in the future by stretching it and with the pain well it is pain full no matter who you are and trust me the coloring in part not as bad the worst of it is over but if you can't hack it ask to do another sitting and drink alot of surgery drinks and sweets that helps as well

now it all depends on the back. is it lower/sides/shoulders? its gonna hurt more as the outline cause any bones are under it. to me that hurt more for my shoulder blade. filling in to me was a piece of cake... sorry no numbing. it can also hurt on how heavy the artist hand is pressing down.

take some pain relievers (tylenol, advil, ibprofen) an hour before you go, next time. it should help. but yeah, the back is no fun. especially the low back. i just got one on friday. it hurt pretty bad. still a little sensitive too.

ask for EMLA, a topical anesthetic or anesthetic spray. Though it is available only in prescription.
