its not true - its been scintifically proved that it doesnt matter what time of the day you eat - as long as you dont consume more calories than spend during the day you are not gona gain weight. its all about calories in vs calories out.
only old school nutritionist/dietitians/doctors would tell you not eat past certain time.
you just shouldnt eat at least an hour before going to bed.

I believe that you are just supposed to abstain from eating 2-3 hours before bedtime.
And don't be alarmed if I star all your weight loss questions, I am in the same boat as you.

Sustaining from eating carbs and foods high in sugar will aid in weight loss. Eating protien or veggies in the evening may actually boost your metabolism and keep the furnace burning longer into the night.

yup its true! the later you eat foods in the day, the less time you have to burn off those calories. if u eat a huge snack right before u go to bed, you won't be able to burn off the calories and you will end up storing them as fat. thats why its a good idea to not eat after 7 or if you are in the habbit of doing so, choose a snack such as a mini bag of carrots or an apple.

It can. The closer you eat to the time you go to bed matters - if you're stuffed and then lay down and sleep, your body;'s metabolism isn't working as fast, and doesn't burn off the calories. If you eat six small, small portions a day (three meals and three snacks), not eating after 7pm can help, because you will still be up after your last meal/snack and your metabolism will burn it off faster. Good luck!

It's a metabolism issue. After 7 pm, generally, you are less active, so the calories do not burn but get stored as carbs for reserve use later.

Not true eating @ certain times or not eating @ certain times will not help with weight loss.
decent meals with plenty of exercise. I hate exercise but I love dogs so as you can guess I walk them everywere to keep trim & to keep myself healthy
You are not suppose to eat after a certain time as your metabolic rate slows down so through your day your always active the rate speeds up digesting food quicker night time comes we all sit around the later the slower it is which makes fat

yes, or even after 8. try eating a heavier breakfast, a medium lunch, and then a light dinner because since most people are not active after dinner, there is no need to have so many calories at that hour. also, the more time you leave between sleeping and eating dinner, the better. you want to leave your body time to digest

I believe it is. Your body slows at night, even digestion. When eating late the food is not digested due to this slowing and lack of exercise. It typically takes more than 2 hours for complete or almost complete digestion of a meal or snack.

people say that because you are less likely to get any exercise in after 7, so you won't burn it off. but, if you exercise after 7, then that would not be true :)
