Well he can't be a nerd because nerds don't have sex and you are alive so he must have done it at some stage. Ask him what he used to do when he was a single guy in his 20s You will be suprised at how cool your dad really is!

Nerd as in smart? Then be happy that you have an intellegent role model in your life. You will be glad you did!
Nerd as in doesn't care what others think? Dresses a little different maybe? Then be happy you have someone in your life that isn't ruled by popular trend and can teach you that you can be your own person regardless what others think.

Enjoy it and learn things from him.
Instead of being a typical, whiny teen who supposedly hates their parents because it's the new "trend" to feel bad for yourself for having PARENTS, try appreciating the fact that your dad is nerdy and can teach you interesting facts.
