It literally means "a while" but in normal use, it means "long time no see...." as in a greetings between people who hasn't seen each other for a while.

I found a word shidoro in my Japanese-japanese dictionary. it could possibly be the one you are looking for. I cannot find modoro. My first thought was that you have "mistaken Japanese." You might find your words on an on line dictionary. I am seriously doubting this. But, it seems your best bet.

Tkquestion is right, the most common use is in "shibaraku desu ne!" It's been a long time or it´s been a while.
