I may have been exposed to HIV two years ago when I shared a tattooing needle with someone who was HIV+.

It's been two years and i have been healthy. i also smoke and drink often as well as work 40 hours a week.

would i have experienced syptoms by now, especially since i engage in so many activities which would lower my immune system anyway?

HIV can remain dormant for many years. Although sharing a needle with someone who is infected does not mean that you definately have the virus, it indicates that there is a very high chance that you have HIV. Get tested now!!! If you test negative, you can stop worrying. If you test positive, you can start treatment earlier and more effectively.

I am confused! Have you had blood work done for an HIV test? If not you should, and I say do it every six months assuming a negative for a little while. HIV attacks the immune system as you say.....but can be present without significant symptoms for a period of time. get the test! If you did dodge a bullet, thank god everyday, and don't be stupid again

You need to get tested and not assume you are ok. It is stupid for you to think that just because you havent been sticken ill yet you are clean. Do the rest of the world a favor and get tested before you start infecting other people.

Just because you haven't experienced symptoms doesn't mean you don't have an infection. Get tested!! This way your mind will be put to rest.

The only way to know is to get tested.

PS: smoking and drinking does not really count as healthy.
