The houses on my street are somewhat close together and I'm afraid that I'll wake people up if I start mowing too early.

We lived in a neighborhood with some "yard possessed" people. My husband was also an early bird and would want to get up at 6 and start working. He just didnt "get" that some people want the luxury of NOT having to get up early on their days off. We finally made a compromise.

6-7 no outside stuff. Garage or Basement only
7-9 - outside stuff ok if its quiet. - Paint a deck, (no power sprayer) sweep, spread weed killer, spread mulch, pull weeds.
SOMETIMES i could convince him thast this was a good time to go to Home Depot and buy the stuff he needed for the day.

This is what I do, I always take care of things like sweeping the garage, cleaning gutters things that don't make noise between 7:00AM and 8:30AM, then I start mowing. However neighbors will give you hint's that you started too early, like standing outside in a robe just watching you cut grass. If that happens I will start later next time, They are my neighbors and deserve some rest on the weekends.

I would start a little after 9 as most people work a 9-5, so they would already be used to being up at 9. If you start around then, you will avoid the midday sun.

Most of my neighbors start in the evenings on weekdays or if it is on the weekend a little after 4PM, so they are done by the time dinner rolls around.

Most city ordinances say 8 am. But if you know your immediate neighbors are late sleepers, wait until 9. You don't want to wait until much later or you'll be mowing while it's too hot. I save my mowing until about 7pm when I can. It's cooler then. But sometimes neighbors are entertaining outside and then I feel bad running the mower. You can't win :(

If I'd mow on the weekends I'd probably start at noon.

9 Am everyday if you aren't already awake then Im assuming they are heavy sleepers. That way you can be done before it gets too hot.
