You will never end terrorism. Their have always been people who are crazy and want to brutalize other people. Eternal vigilance is required to maintain civilization, and we have to be cautious to not be over civilized. In order to have freedom you have to fight for freedom, sometimes even for those who won't fight for themselves.

Terrorism is a symptom ; no more,no less.To end/substantially reduce terrorism we need to determine the causes and eliminate them.

The Middle East is a perfect example of why terrorism exists.

For over a century the US,Britain et al have used/abused/violated the peoples of the Middle East ALL BECAUSE OF OIL.

From the post WW1 carving up of the Middle East by the victorious allies with each getting it's share of the oil wealth by gerrymandaring borders with total disrespect for the wants/needs/wishes of the peoples of the region,to the US 's vile destruction of the DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED Iranian government in 1953 (The US has destroyed at least 15 democracies since 1950 all because these countries refused to allow the US to persue it's "national interests" in their countries. From Iran to Chile ,from El Salvador to Brazil etc etc etc.)

It replaced the democratically elected Iranian government with the vile butchering right wing dictator ,the Shah of Iran who with his dreaded secret police the Saavak, slaughtered any and all political dissidents .

For the next 26 years, the Shah terrorized his citizens banning all political activity and filling up many a graveyard with the Saavak's victims.

Unable to politically evolve "naturally",Iranians in desperation were forced because of the US./The Shah into the arms of the Muslims fundamentalists.

Given the atrocity that the US committed against Iran and the Iranian people, that the US and Americans should then have been surprised about the hostage incident is simply a pathetic manifestation of their moral hypocricy.

At least these Iranian Islamic radicals eventually released all the hostages un-harmd which is a hell of a lot better than the literal thousands that the US puppet ,The Shah ,killed in his 26 years.

The US has always supported ruthless right wing dictatorships around the world for they agreed to ensure the US's "national interests" (Read PROFITS)

From 1979 to 1990 ,the US militarily, economically and politically fully supported Saddam of Iraq knowing full well he had committed crimes against humanity but as long as he kept the oil running in a stable environment ,the US didn't give a "rat's ***" about the Iraqi people.

To this day the US militarily supports other vile dictatorships in the region from Saudi Arabia to Egypt etc.

Suffice it to say that if any country had committed the atrocities that the US has committed against other countries and peoples, the US and Americans would demand that that country be simply carpet bombed as it has Iraq .

The hypocricy is simply monumental. If Iraq/Afghanistan deserve to have been warred against because of of what these countries and peoples did to the US (i.e. 9/11) then
why do other countries and peoples not have the "right" to war against the US especially given the fact that the entire justification of the illegal vile Iraqi war was/is based upon a pack of filthy lies.

Given all the atrocities that the US/The West have committed in the Middle East and all the hatred/animosity such atrocities have justifiably engendered among Muslims/Arabs,it is a miracle that these peoples have not reacted more violently towards the West.

I am not sure that you can ever stop terrorism. There is always someone with a feeling that their way is better. Certainly if we would stop being terrorists, maybe there would be less towards us. But it is interesting that most terrorism is in the name of religion. Religious leaders need to step up and practice what their religion says. They could go a long way toward reducing terrorism.

I think we need to promote education in third world countries. I am convinced that most suicide bombers are so susceptible to propaganda because of their lack of education and perspective on the value of human life. Of course, some are really intelligent people, but without education that intelligence becomes twisted and misguided. We who live in the more powerful countries in the world don't understand terrorism because it goes against everything our values tell us. You can't try and wipe out terrorists, because they embrace death and when they lose one of their own it stirs up a fanatic fervor that only intensifies their feelings of hatred and nationalism. If we could instill values among them at an early age, we could prevent more terrorists from being created, and replace them with people who want to make valuable contributions to the society in which they exist.

Get rid of liberalism in the world. Then, drop an atomic (or higher rated) bomb directly on top of the Main Mosque the next time a terror attack occurs.

I see it coming now - link below.

1. Stop the denail that Muslim terrorism is real.
You first have to admit there is a problem.
2. Confront it with force. This group only understand force.
3. Work on assilmation of Muslims in their country.
One reason why US hasn't had a Muslim attack because they are assilmating here.

If the US would go back to a no tolerance policy, would be a start. Annihilation is another option. I have no patience or tolerance for someone who wants to kill me and my family because I don't agree with their "cause" what ever that would be.....I think we have gotten to lax and panty waisted in this country. Just my opinion. Nana
